Some months back I was talking about Laptop bags with STM’s representatives and Andrew Edney of Connected Digital Home and our podcast fame. I mentioned that I have a reputation for destroying laptop bags and Andrew set STM the challenge of supplying me a bag I couldn’t break. They took that challenge and for the last few months I have been using the STM Velo 2 bag and I have to say it has survived with flying colours.
I was a little doubtful when I first got the bag for although one end of the strap is heavily stitched in place the other is held by a rotating plastic clip. This clip has proved very sturdy and STM have obviously thought about how the load is distributed across the strap. This is very important for me as I sometimes carry quite a load. The Velo 2 has survived carrying two laptops, a Surface, and an iPad at the same time.
Storage is fabulous with

a more substantial zipped pocket behind this – this pocket is really not obvious with the zip subtly built into the seam. This has loads of room for all sorts of accessories.

It is practical, stylish and easy to carry. Full of nice touches like an extra strap on the bag designed to keep it in place if you are cycling and a place to clip a light for visibility. To be honest if it is possible to love a laptop bag then this would be the one for me.
Conclusion
This is simply the best Laptop bag I have ever used and I have got through quite a few. Even more than that it survived the challenge of me and you can’t say more than that other than that the STM Velo 2 gets our highest award and truly deserves it.
