Microsoft release Surface Pro 3 firmware update. Could it be a battery fix? (Update: No)
Overnight Microsoft released a firmware update for the Surface Pro 3 (along with a Realtek audio driver update). This is the first system firmware update since January and many Surface Pro 3 owners are hoping that it contains a fix for the serious battery issues with some Surface Pro 3 devices (See my post). Unfortunately Microsoft haven’t updated their Surface Pro 3 update page yet so we don’t know what has changed but on my Surface Pro 3 I noticed it updated the UEFI (BIOS) during the update.
UPDATE 22/07/2016 16:22
Details of the update from Microsoft show while there are battery improvements it does not seem to be a fix for the battery issue:

My podcast co-host @database says his initial first impression is that the battery issue has not been fixed but we will have to wait for Microsoft to confirm what has changed before we will really know. What I do know is there Surface Pro 3 battery issue on Microsoft’s forums is now up to 15 pages.
@isdixon I’m sure they will. Feels wrong that we have to install these things blindly. Battery still stops charging at 95% so suspect no fix
