There is another new Media Center in the app store. Recorded TV HD enables you to watch your tv shows by genre or favourites lists and has a nice visual watched show indicator, there is no need to create special folders as the addin uses the TV show’s metadata. You can try the app for free with the 30 day trial available in the app store and you can purchase the program for $9.99 if you buy before May 31st or $19.99 after that.

The application looks great and if you have a lot of content on your system it’s a good way of keeping track of your content.

Give the app a try from the Media Center app store and you can buy from the developers site.

Recorded TV HD allows you to watch your recorded tv shows in Windows 7 Media Center® with more style and ease.
In the mood for a comedy? Just sort by genre!Setup favorites lists however you like!
All of the and all information is all automatically set. IE no need to manually create folders, rename or move any files!
Watched indicator and visual resume shows how much has been watched.
Whether you live alone or with a houseful, favorites lists are great for sorting through and keeping track of all of your favorite shows!
You can make multiple favorites lists for yourself and for the kids so whoever is controlling the remote can see only the shows they want to see.

  1. The ability to find Action and Advent programs looks good – I like to be able to jump to the Blue Peter advent candle making episode super fast and think that really merits it’s place at the top of the list.

    Looks really nice too.

  2. I installed and reinstalled this app and both times it killed my extender’s (Xbox 360) ability to access and play “Recorded TV” and “Live TV”. Anyone else have this issue?

  3. I’ve not seen the issue studs mentions but have noticed a distinct hike in CPU usage since I installed this. It is being updated regularly though so hopefully all these issues will shortly be resolved

  4. I’ve not seen the issue stixx mentions but have noticed a distinct hike in CPU usage since I installed this. It is being updated regularly though so hopefully all these issues will shortly be resolved

  5. Installed the trial and I like it so far. In addition to my recorded TV, is there any way to integrate the episodes of series that I have purchased and downloaded via Amazon?
