Not sure if many people have seen this yet, but the Windows 7 team have posted on the Engineering Windows 7 blog about what they are going to do to address the concerns people have around UAC.  Those concerns are mainly that with the Beta it’s possible to alter the level without the user necessarily knowing what’s happening.

So to fix it:

With this feedback and a lot more we are going to deliver two changes to the Release Candidate that we’ll all see. First, the UAC control panel will run in a high integrity process, which requires elevation. That was already in the works before this discussion and doing this prevents all the mechanics around SendKeys and the like from working. Second, changing the level of the UAC will also prompt for confirmation.

I have to say I like the way UAC works in Windows 7 but I think this is a welcome and non-intrusive change.  This sentance sums up, for me how UAC should be managed:

The way we‘re going to think about this that the UAC setting is something like a password, and to change your password you need to enter your old password.

What do you think?  Do you have UAC turned off?  Do you have it set to maximum warp?
