Since the TV Pack changed the guide data download format some 3rd party applications for downloading schedule data have been broken (this applies to Windows 7 as well). Microsoft has gone some way to helping out by posting a detailed document that describes the download format XML files. While this is not a supported features (don’t expect to call Microsoft it downloading your own data doesn’t work) it shows that Microsoft are listing to the community which has been asking for the details since the format changed.

You can find the document on the Forums on The Digital Lifestyle.com

We’ve received several requests from the community to describe what is in the listings files that are download onto your machines running Windows Media Center TV Pack 2008. The below document describes what is in the file.

Loading in your own listings is not a supported scenario. If you try to load in your own listings and things aren’t working, please don’t expect Microsoft support on this
