Another Universal App comes to Windows 10: Netflix launches a new app

Microsoft’s plan of getting developers to create universal Windows 10 seems to be paying off with recent additions from Uber, BBC Store and TuneIn Radio. The latest universal app is from Netflix, replacing the old Windows app. The new Netflix app is currently for the PC and is coming to Windows 10 Mobile “in the near future” which will mean the phone version of Netflix will work on Continuum once updated.

The new app doesn’t look that different to the old app but there are some nice improvements. The UI has been improved, with quick access to continued watching and improved navigation. There is Cortana integration so you can see “Netflix look for Doctor Who” and a new live tile.

The app is nice update and available now in the Windows Store. More details on the Windows Blog:

Today we’re excited to share that an all new Netflix app for Windows 10 PCs and tablets is beginning to rollout in the Windows Store to download this week. And, the new app will be available for mobile phones running Windows 10 in the near future. Netflix shares more about the ease of development on the universal Windows platform on their blog.

The new Netflix app on Windows 10 offers capabilities unique to the app experience, including the ability to pin the app to Start and the Task Bar, Live Tile notifications, and more.
