Microsoft has just released a new build of Windows 11 for Windows Insiders on the Canary Channel. Build 26040 has the new phone photo sharing feature first introduced on the Dev Channel.

This build has a new feature where you can get instant access to photos and screenshots taken on your mobile device.

To try this out you will need to go to Settings, Bluetooth & Devices, Mobile devices and then select Manage Devices. This will prompt your PC to download a new Cross Device Experience Host update from the Microsoft Store.

You can then enable the new feature, and when you take a photo or take a screenshot you get a notification in Windows

This is a great new feature and it works very well, check out my video of phone sharing in action.

With this release Microsoft have updated the Windows Setup Experience

The build also adds 80Gbs USB support and has improvements to Narrator.
