With the launch of the Surface Laptop Microsoft launched a new version of Windows called Windows 10 S. Windows 10 S is a version of Windows 10 which is designed primarily for the education market. Unlike Windows 10 Home or Pro you can’t install just any old software on it, you can only install software from Windows Store. Windows Store apps are tested and validated by Microsoft so they shouldn’t contain viruses or malware which is great for the education market. The down side is that you can’t install that old photo editor program you used to use or Google Chrome, it also means you can’t unintentionally install doggy toolbars or fake clean up tools. At the moment, the Widows Store only restriction can be a pain for example you can’t install Google Chrome but over time more apps are being added to the store including iTunes. Spotify and Microsoft Office.

Here is my walkthrough of Windows 10 S looking at some of the changes from the standard version of Windows 10.
