In this video I take a look at the iHome Bluetooth Speaker, a speaker for the home that supports Bluetooth 4, FM Radio and an audio input.

My first impression of the speaker is that it is reassuringly heavy for its size and is finished with a glossy black design. Pairing up is really easy as it has NFC and once paired I was really impressed with the sound quality of the device. The 10W speaker is loud without being distorted even at the highest levels and has a very balanced sound, one of my pet hates of many Bluetooth speakers is the tinny all midrange sound and this is not the case with the iHome speaker. It has a balanced and clear sound.

You can also control playback from the speaker as there are Play/Pause, Previous and Next track buttons. You can also use the speaker as a hands free device for taking calls when paired up with a phone.

As well as Bluetooth there is a FM radio tuner (with 6 memory locations) and 3.5mm audio input (with supplied cable) so you can plug in devices that don’t support Bluetooth. Plus there is a USB port for charging your phone. Also included in the box is a mains adapter.

An impressive speaker for the price (£89.99 at MobileFun.co.uk), great sound quality and easy to setup.

Thanks to MobileFun.co.uk for supplying the review unit.
