I know for many people SRT subtitle support is an essential item on a video app and Microsoft have finally added SRT support in the Windows 10 Movies & TV (Film & TV in the UK). The latest update to the app adds support for SRT subtitle files with personal videos (which should be located in the same folder as the video).
Also in the update is an improved offline experience which helps you find your downloaded content for offline viewing and personal videos show thumbnails of content within the folder.
