In many areas Smartphones are killing off dedicated hardware devices and the latest is Sonos CR200 remote control. From June 1st Sonos will on longer be selling the dedicated controller so users will have to use their Android phone, iPhone or iPod Touch.
It’s not surprising that it’s being discontinued at £279 it’s expensive and probably not as friendly as the smartphone versions. Maybe it’s time to dig out that old iPhone and re-purpose it as a remote.
