While other set top box manufactures may be struggling to shift boxes and other discontinuing devices Apple are quietly selling a fair few of their the Apple TVs. Whilst announcing their massive profits Apple CEO Tim Cook said that “The Apple TV product is doing actually very well… In the past quarter (the December quarter), we set a new quarterly record for Apple TV with over 1.4 million units”
Which takes the total sales of Apple’s “hobby” device to 2.8 million units, which for a limited device are pretty good. With Airplay I am actually getting more use out of mine and hacks like ATVFlash make it an interesting device.
