HP launches new TouchSmart and consumer PCs

Despite HP thinking about spinning of the PC division they are still making PCs and they have released new TouchSmart and consumer PCs. The all-in-one HP TouchSmart 520 (£599)  is added to the TouchSmart range and the HP Pavilion HPE Phoenix (£949) is HP’s most powerful consume PC . The TouchSmart machines make nice all in one Media Center systems and the new 23” would be nice running Windows 8.

Bracknell, UK, Sept. 7th, 2011 – HP today revealed its latest investment in the desktop PC market, unveiling new products that offer intuitive touch experiences and unrivaled power and speed.

NPD Group reported in the month of July that 34 percent of consumer desktop purchases were all-in-one PCs.(1)To support this growth, HP offers a broad range of screen sizes and premium features, such as multi touch, to meet the needs and budgetary requirements of every consumer and business.

  1. I think these All-In-One machines have great potential as a kitchen or guest computer. However, they are limited as a primary computer due to the inability to upgrade individual components. You can usually buy a better quality webcam and speakers for not much more money, for example, and of course if one component dies you’ll be without the use of your computer while you send it in for service.
