Much to my (and I’m sure many Apple mobile users) disappointment it turns out that despite us all sitting with our devices plugged into iTunes eagerly awaiting iOS 4.2 goodness we will have to wait just that little bit longer, or could it be a lot longer, who knows?

It turns out that a bug with the iPad WiFi is supposedly to blame.  Users of the gold distribution have identified that when connected to a network you are unable to actually do anything on that network, which is a pretty big problem!

We are waiting for more information and will update the post if we get it.  I guess we will have to go out and do something else with our Friday night, pub anyone?

🙁

UPDATE: iTunes 10.1 has just dropped, update now to get iOS 4.2 compatibility along with AirPlay!

UPDATE: I have just come home and it turns out that Apple have released a new build of the iOS 4.2 GM (build 8C134b).  Lets hope we see the release to the general public very soon, (providing there are no more problems of course).

  1. Looks like a new GM for the iPad has been released too, looks like the rumors of a problem with the iPad wifi may be the reason it is so called delayed. I reckon this time next week we should be happy!
