OK not major news but if you have an Apple TV it may be interesting. Apple have updated the Remote app for iOS devices (at last) it now supports Retina displays and makes full use of the iPad screen.

It also is designed to control the new Apple TV device, supports simple finger gestures (no jokes there!) and there are some bug fixes. I actually quite like the app, its much better than the little remote which I find a bit frustrating at times and you don’t have to be in the room where the Apple TV is.

The App is available in the iTunes store

What’s New In Version 2.0

• Designed for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad
• Optimized for Retina displays and large screen real estate on iPad
• Support for Shared Libraries on iTunes and new Apple TV

  1. Where is the MCE equivalent, this is super slick and really is a challenger for the uber expensive installer remote systems, and it’s free. C’mon app makers do something half as good for MCE and you’ve got my money!!
