Microsoft’s Charlie Owen has put out a request to test shipping Vista Media Center applications with Windows7. He said:

As we near the final stages of development for Windows Media Center in Windows 7 we have an ever shrinking window to make sure applications written for prior versions of Windows Media Center are compatible. I am seeking a wide array of applications which exercise the following platform paradigms…

  1. Managed Code + Media Center Markup Language Local Assembly.
  2. Media Center Markup Language Web Application.
  3. Managed Code Local Assembly (Background Application)
  4. Hosted HTML.

…with a special emphasis on audio and / or video playback scenarios.

So if you want Microsoft to test your application contact Charlie via the contact details on his blog and he has details of the information he needs from you to be able to test the application

I think it’s great that the Media Center team care about compatibility with Vista Media Center application and are going making an effort to reach out to the community
