This afternoon I was introduced to Cutting Edge PC’s, they where showing off their HD-DVD / Bluray Media Center PC, as you can tell from the picture it’s a nice looking devices but what impressed me most is how seamlessly the HD content integrated with Media Center. When I tested Sony’s Bluray Media Center System last year I noticed that when you put a Bluray disk in the drive it would shell out of Media Center, wait a while, wait some more and then get round to playing the film. In fact when I first tested it I thought it wasn’t working.
Well Cutting Edge PC’s system did not do that, as soon as you put the disk into it Media Center loaded it and prompted you to play the movie and then it started, almost instant. Pressing Back on the remote took you straight back in to Media Center and pauses the DVD. This is the best example of Bluray and Media Center I have seen so far. I grabbed some video and will be posting that soon (how much stuff have I got to edit now!)
That has to be one of the coolest looking Media Servers I’ve seen. I checked out thier web site and they have some interesting integration going on. http://www.cuttingedgepcs.com/home.htm
