I have been see reports on Twitter and on TGB that the Xbox Live service is down for 24 hours maintenance and its affecting Windows 7/Xbox 360 Extender users. If your running Windows 7 and use the Xbox 360 as an Extender when the extender session connects to the PC it attempts to connect to Xbox live which fails as XBL is down so no extender, another blow for WAF!

I am not sure why there is a dependency on XBL but I have been told this will not be an issue in the final version of Windows 7

I do have a dual boot system with Vista so I could go back for a day but most of my recordings are in WTV anyway and who wants to go back after running Windows 7!

Xbox LIVE will be offline for scheduled maintenance on Tuesday, June 16, starting at 08:01 a.m. UK time for up to 24 hours. Thank you for your patience.

I have started work at a new location in Portsmouth and my room hasn't got Internet access yet.  When I tried to add an extender with my Win 7 laptop it wouldn't go complete due to a lack of an internet connection! This is a pain in the backside as I'm going to now take my 360 and laptop back to Scotland this weekend just to set up media center!!!!

This is a load of BS. Well luckily I have my 4x4 Matrix Switcher in place.

Just one point on this. If it is the same as Vista this tethering of  Media Extender to XBL will only be during the beta test period. With Vista once it was released the restriction went away.
