As well as announcing a public preview of the Android sub-system for Windows Panos Pany also said that many of the improvements currently being test Windows Insiders will be coming to Windows 11 soon.

Next month the taskbar improvements, call muting, windows sharing and the new weather icon will be coming to the OS along with the re-designed Notepad app and Media Player. The new features are currently being tested by Windows Insiders on the dev channel.

The taskbar has the new weather icon and new Teams sharing options.

Updated Media Player

The update media player replaces the old Groove Music app. The app that was once Zune Music, then Xbox Music became Groove Music and now is just Media Player. It has features like codecs on the demand and a new look and feel. See my video.

Notepad

Notepad app has several visual changes, it has rounded corners and the Windows 11 look and feel. As well as the visual changes there are multi-level undo, support for dark mode and a updated find and replace experience. See my video.

Whether all the changes in the current dev channel will be made available or just a subset mentioned we will have to wait to find out.
