At the end of last year Microsoft announced they would be replacing the flat colourless icons in Windows 10 with a set of fluent design inspired colour icons. They first showed up in last week’s Windows 10X emulator and are now rolling out to Windows 10. The first users to get the new icons are on the Windows Insiders Programme. My devices on Release Preview, Slow Ring and Fast Ring have picked up new icons.

Today my fast ring machines picked up new icons for Groove Music, Calculator, Alarms & Clock, Movies & TV, Voice Recorder, Mail and the Calendar app. On slow ring and release preview the machines picked up the new Mail and Calendar icons. While new icons may not be the most exciting topic it is part of Microsoft fluent design bring a new consistent look to Microsoft’s apps and services.
