This week Microsoft released a new Windows 10 20H1 build for Windows Insiders and it didn’t seem to have many new features, however the release notes failed to mention a new Cortana app.

It looks like the the Cortana app has been completely re-written and that has a text based input as well as voice control. You sign into it with your Microsoft account and then it has access to the services you previously setup with Cortana. You can do things like asking “What’s the weather forecast?” or “What’s on my list?” which brings up your To-Do tasks. You can also search Bing from the app.

It I good to see Microsoft updating the Cortana app after it being neglected for so long.

To try it out you need build 18922 and then run “MS-cortana2:” from the run or command prompt.
