Microsoft have issued an out of band update for the original HoloLens. The patch is to fix the issues with a recent .net framework that caused the Microsoft Store and other apps to hang on start-up.
The update takes the OS from 17763.379 to 17763.380 and requires a reboot after installing. Microsoft have been very proactive responding to the app crashing issues, which Microsoft said was caused by an update to the .net framework.
