Microsoft have pushed out an update for the Microsoft Band 2 and Microsoft Health app. The update adds weight tracking to the Microsoft Health app and a GPS power saving mode when you are using the Band 2. The extended power mode reduces the battery drain when using GPS tracking on a run or bike ride, Microsoft say it will now last up to 4 hours. I found the GPS feature very accurate but the bands battery does take a big hit so this is a welcome improvement.

Also in the update is the ability to create a custom workout and share it with your friends and the “What’s new” tile says you can set up activity times for 30, 60 or 90 minutes a feature I am pretty sure was part of the last updated the last feature.

So a nice set of incremental improvements. The updated Microsoft Health app will pull down the updated firmware for the Band.
