As Microsoft countdown to July 29th for release of Windows 10 they have posted some details of the roll out process for the OS. In the post on the Windows Blog Terry Myerson says that “soon” they will be giving out Windows 10 to OEM partners for new devices, of which there have been few details. I hope we get to see some new hardware soon, maybe on sale July 29th. Microsoft are introducing a sticker to show Windows 10 compatibly on Windows 8.1 devices on sale, so expect to see them soon.

July 29th Windows 10 will be rollout out to Windows Insiders, Windows PCs that have reserved Windows 10 installs will start getting the update in waves slowly after. So it looks like Windows Insiders will be at the front of the queue in getting Windows 10 with the reserved systems getting it after.

Starting on July 29, we will start rolling out Windows 10 to our Windows Insiders. From there, we will start notifying reserved systems in waves, slowly scaling up after July 29th. Each day of the roll-out, we will listen, learn and update the experience for all Windows 10 users.

If you reserved your copy of Windows 10, we will notify you once our compatibility work confirms you will have a great experience, and Windows 10 has been downloaded on your system.

Microsoft say that Volume licensing customers will be available to download Windows 10 Enterprise August 1st.

The post ends with Terry Myerson thanking Windows Insiders for the feedback and saying that Microsoft will notify us when Windows 10 is ready for PCs, tablets, phones, Xbox and Hololens.
