Microsoft are continuing to roll out changes for Windows 8.1 trying to make it easier for mouse and keyboard users to work with the OS. The latest change is an updated Windows Store make it easier for mouse users to find the menu options in Windows 8.1 and to be honest makes it easier touch users as well.

In the old version the main actions like viewing the top aps, categories and viewing your account was accessed by swiping down from the top on a touch device or right clicking to bring down a menu of options. Now with the new UI the actions are at the top of the screen which makes it more obvious where the options are. So the number of steps maybe the same but it is probably easier for new users. Perhaps it’s a sign that users are still not getting used to app bar navigation in Windows 8.

The store will be updated automatically after installing the May 13th Windows Updates.
