Nokia’s 2520 Windows tablet shipped with their own HERE maps apps and today Nokia have announced they are releasing HERE maps in the Windows Store for any Windows 8.1 device. The app will work on ARM based device like the Surface 2 as well as Intel powered devices and will be free from the Windows Store. HERE maps has road, satellite and 3D maps along with points of interest and route planning. The maps can also be downloaded for offline use.

Since the initial release on the 2520 the app has been improved so you can now use a mouse and keyboard and it has the latest high-resolution imagery.

HERE Maps for Windows 8.1 will be rolling out over the next few days in the Windows Store.
