At The Gadget Show Live Microsoft were demonstrating how they are using Kinect for Windows to produce 3D models of real world objects and then be able to re-create the model using a 3D printer. So I volunteered to be scanned by the Microsoft team and then I chatted with Microsoft about the complexities of going from a scanned image to model that could be printed with a 3D printer.
