Samsung have announced the latest in their range of tablets the Galaxy Note 8.0, the 8 inch screen tablet has the S Pen and fits between the Tab 2 7 inch and the Note 10.1. The styling follows the S3 and Note 2 design with the curved look and runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean).

The screen runs at 1280 x 800 and is powered by 1.6 quad core processor, there is a MicroSD card slot to add to the 16 or 32gb storage and it has a MicroUSB port on it. There is a 5MP rear camera and a 1.3 front facing camera. Samsung claim 14 hours of battery life from the 4,600mAh battery.

It comes with Samsung’s TouchWiz UI and have the same multi-window features at the Galaxy Note 2, S3 and the recently updated original Galaxy Note. When I first started using TouchWiz I wasn’t that impressed with it but over time Samsung have done a good adding features and speed improvement to it to make it a worthwhile addition to Android.

If you interested in a mid-sized tablet and want pen features this may be worth looking at.
