UK Media Center users are still suffering guide data problems with the EPG data missing and only over the air data being provided. It’s frustrating for users only getting 7 days data but if you’re not able to get OTA data then it renders Media Center’s DVR features useless.

Microsoft are aware of the issues and hopefully they can resolve the problem soon.

  1. Yes, it is terrible of Microsoft not making enough effort here. An issue was raised on Microsoft Connect 9 days before the guide data was due to run out, and nothing was done to solve it in time. The same thing happened to Ireland earlier in December, and they still have not got their guide data restored. I am working around it (for non-HD channels, just recording SD for now) by re-enabling OTA freeview data (I had previously disabled it as it would often create short 1-2 minutes recordings) – however this data seems to be lacking original air date, so I am getting lots of repeats recorded and also does not seem to understand that plus-one channels have the identical program and so records both (for when I say record on any channel) so I am having to disable the plus-one channels.

  2. Any update on this. I have a similar issue here in the States. If I don’t let it update before the 14 days run out, it errors out when trying to update.
