I have been doing a lot of testing with XBMC on various distributions of Linux and on the Raspberry Pi and I really like playing music on XBMC from my iPhone using AirTunes. What I didn’t realise until recently that only Airplay video worked on the Windows version of XBMC and music wouldn’t play. In the nightly builds of the June dev cycle of XBMC for Windows AirTunes has been added so you can stream music and podcasts from an iOS device (or iTunes) to a Windows machine running XBMC.
I downloaded the latest build and got it working on Windows 8, you will need Apple’s Bonjour service installed before you can enable Airplay in XBMC
If you want to get try it you will need to get hold of one of the nightly builds of XBMC
