As well as officially naming Windows 8 the server edition has got an official name, the next version of Windows Server will be called Windows Server 2012. No news yet if they are going to leave any out of our favourite features and make us pay for them separately (only joking, Microsoft wouldn’t do that would they)
In addition, Anderson provided a preview of how Microsoft’s private cloud will become even more powerful with Windows Server “8” and announced that the operating system will officially be named Windows Server 2012. The new “cloud-optimized OS” is due out later this year.
