  1. This release from ATI does nothing for me, it just installs some CCC stuff but no actual video driver is installed. If I try to open CCC it says:

CCC cannot be started. There are currently no settings that can be configured using CCC.

If I look in Device Manager the driver being used is:

ATI Radeon HD 4200 (Engineering Sample – WDDM v1.1)

I’ve set the desktop screen resolution to 1080p at 50Hz but I have massive black borders all ways round and no way to scale the desktop in CCC as you normally would.

    Thanks AMD !

  2. @cw-kid
That drivers is for HD5000 and beyond, HD4000 arent supported, that drivers is just the windows 7 one (look out for WDDM specification), 1.0 is for vista, 1.1 is for 7 and 1.2 is for Windows 8.

HD4000 doesn’t have DX11 features, so no full support now.

  3. OK, Scratch that, I have a HD4870 and found how to change it:
    Open Regedit and go to
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\
    Then, you will see some random numbers like {00112233445566778899AABBCCDDEE}
Check all of them, then, on the ones that have the Subkey 0000 or 0001 There will be a string named something like: DALR6 DFP1920x1080x0x60
That is my resolution right now (1920 x 1080 at 60 fps)
That will be filled with 00 00 00 zeroes and if it have a 08, change it to 00.
Look for that key on both 0000 and 0001.

    Final key is something like:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Video\{00112233445566778899AABBCCDDEE}001\DALR6 DFP1920x1080x0x60

Look for the 08 bit inside the string and change to 00. Remember to backup your registry, restart and bars should be gone.

    1. I have the same ATI Radeon HD 4200 as the other cw kid. If what you’re explaining can help us, then should I only chane 08’s to 00’s, or also 64’s and DC’s?
