I was at the Boxee Event in London, the first event outside of the USA. Boxee said that they have just released a updated BBC Iplayer for the Boxee that day. They also pre-announced that Blink Box, as we all know is the UK’s largest supplier of online movies and tv will be on Boxee before the end of this year.
Boxee also showed the World Premiere of the new Boxee app for the Ipad but hopefully it will come to Android in the future. This was a totally new version of the Ipad app that they showed at CES this year. you can see videos your friends have shared, or bookmark them and watch later from the same page.
Also they did say video files stored on your local network, using the new Boxee Media Server, would be transcoded to the correct codec in the next few months.
PC, Mac and Ubuntu boxee software will be update to the same software to Boxee Box to version 1.1. They also told us that there are 1.8 Million Users in 34 Countries.
There are 200 Apps for the UK users and they are still working with Hulu to get it back for the UK.
