Seems like Hulu are fighting the inevitable by trying to restrict their content to just the browser. Engadget HD are reporting that Hulu is encrypting the HTML content in a effort to break the 3rd party applications, they quote TunerFreeMCE’s Martin Milmore:

“TunerFreeMCE’s Martin Millmore says Hulu’s HTML is now encrypted at the source and then decrypted using Javascript on the client. That means plugins that parse the Hulu site for links to content won’t work anymore”

The bad news for Hulu is that the Boxee is now using XUL-based Hulu component that works no differently than a browser so its back to square one for Hulu

  1. This is really killing the cache builder on Tuner Free MCE now and on the latest V2.6.7 version it’s not caching any Channel 4 shows for me and I’m sure other channels are not showing all the shows they should be, not sure what’s going on there!

I’ve also lost the option to set the time out delay for the auto play in one of the html files in recent builds, with as many hops as we have over here we really need that back!

    Martin ?
