Looks like there are some nasty EPG issues for the OTA HD channels for US users. Ben Drawbaugh on Engadget HD is saying than there are a number of reports on TGB about guide data going missing and it to do with the way pre-TV pack Media Center uses old FCC data, Windows 7 and ironically TV Pack is working correctly. According to the thread on TGB Microsoft are have been able to reproduce the problem and are working on the issue. Media Center with out guide data is a big headache and can seriously reduce your WAF

Phil Lozen raises the question Does Media Center need DTV transition lessons?

  1. Yes, this is a huge issue. Instead off adding bells and whistles, this is one basic functionality that Media Center should have fixed years ago. As a fan, I cannot recommend Media Center to a friend or neighbor if I have to caveat it with “You can’t see the program guide for some of the digital sub-channels. Oh yeah, and the frequency data is wrong for some channels, so you will have to manually edit them.”

  2. I had to add another channel 11-1 and change the frequency for it to work, then edit the guide to merge the info from the original channel to that one.

I agree. Media Center is just not for the non-geek. Yet.
