As we get more and more digital content on our networks and as we add netbooks and home servers our content can get spread around our are home and its easy to loose control of it. I have a my main Media Center server recording TV and then shared out via Xbox 360 extenders and this box also has all my pictures and music on it but then I have a Windows Home Server that has some content on it as well as my Tablet PC and netbook. I keep meaning to organize my self better by moving archived TV content to the home server box, moving all my pictures to a single location and sorting storing my DVD collection but when you have been building up content for a few years it can be tough organizing it.

There are some good 3rd party apps for organizing content and some Windows Home Server boxes like the new HP MediaSmart have built in media collection utilities but probably the first step is to workout a plan for where I am going to store everything

I have created a poll in the forums asking “Do you store your TV shows on Windows Home Server?” and I would be interesting to here how readers are doing it and what kind of solutions you have come up with
