When you try to use the Online Media or Internet TV features of Media Center Extender on a Windows Vista-based computer, you may receive the following error message:

Video Error
Files needed to display video are not installed or not working correctly, please restart windows media center or restart the computer

This problem occurs when a network router blocks the network packets that are sent by an online service to deliver media content such as movies or music. Some network routers block some media-based network packets that are sent by some online services. This article helps you fix the problem.

As with the other Fix It solutions you can do it manually or use the Fix It button

Manual Steps:

Step 1: Update Windows Vista (if required)
Install Service Pack 1 for Windows Vista.

Step 2: Update the Online Media settings for Media Center Extender

Change the Windows Vista registry settings for Online Media.
