Microsoft are running a new competition to win a digital home makeover complete with Media Center and Extenders

Our makeover team will use Windows® Media Center and Extenders for Windows® Media Center to turn one lucky person’s home into a connected entertainment center. Just make a video telling us about your digital lifestyle and why you need to “Get Connected.” We’ll pick the best video and award the winner a complete digital home makeover.

One Grand Prize Winner will receive a custom home entertainment system evaluation from a digital home entertainment expert plus up to $10,000 in products and services to create a connected entertainment system.

To enter you need to submit a video showing your enthusiasm about digital home entertainment. Here are the official details:

So you want to win our fabulous prize. What do you do next? Make a video telling us why you need the experts to come to your house and upgrade your digital home entertainment system. Microsoft wants you to tell us what you do today with your digital media and what you wish you could do.
The video must be in a digital format, no more than 2 minutes long, and you must have the rights to everything you use in your video, including any music (including samples from other songs), video clips and images. Other than that you decide:

  • Hard-hitting exposé? – Investigative journalists probe the spaghetti lurking behind your TV.
  • Period costume drama? – Tough to imagine this one, but hey, it’s your video.
  • Stop-motion claymation? – If you think you have the time.

The images and sound must be clear, but while the visual style of the entry matters (it should be recorded in a careful and/or skillful fashion), we aren’t going to give extra marks for shooting with a $50,000 camera. If your cell phone is the only video camera you have, by all means use that.
What we’d like the video to show:

  1. Your enthusiasm about digital home entertainment.
  2. Your current system: What’s cool? What’s missing? In other words, why do you need a digital home makeover?
  3. A story that can appeal to other digital home entertainment users.
