One tool I couldn’t live without is FolderShare, I use it to sync folders across my Tablet PC, UMPC and Media Center PC. It works by you installing the FolderShare client and then picking a folder (or folder tree) you want to sync up and it does the syncing over the Internet, you can install it on any number of machines and the folders will sync. As it uses PTP (peer to peer technology) machines on the same LAN sync very quickly so you can use it sync video files and recorded TV files. So it’s another solution for sharing your Media around the home and you don’t need a server to do it. You can even use the web client to access your files via the web

Download the updated FolderShare and read the foldershare blog

  1. Love it. Thanks for pointing that out. Now if only it supported more than 10k files I could use it to distribute my photos round the house instead of SyncToy. MCE seems very slow at displaying pictures from a remote PC, even over a gigabit network.

  2. Been usung foldersahre at work for the past 2 years and it works really nice but with a 10k limit your limited to making multiple folders (each 10K) and becomes a bit of a mess to handle if you have over 20k (in my case) and you still want to keep the Itunes folder structure for handling MP3’s.

Anyone know about a prodcut that is working as nice as foldershare but without 10k limit?
Even if i have to pay for it?
