I have already mentioned my disappointment of Paul Thurrot’s dismissing of the Linksys Extenders (here) and Steve Lindsay expresses his thoughts. He mentioned some points that Paul completely missed, things like form factor, weight, power consumption, built in wireless network and divx support. Plus the thing that still bothers me Paul’s complaint about the slow UI, for me it’s perfectly fine I keep using mine to see if I am missing something and I am sure I am not, it works fine

  1. Thanks for the post and the recent podcast on extenders. There is one question that seems to never be asked … is there a way to use a Vista PC (Home Prem or Ultimate) as an extender. File sharing from a home server/media center can be done, but the use of the channel guide and streaming content (live tv) cannot. It there an add-in or something in the works that would provide this? I have several Vista PCs and do not want to invest in extenders for this capability.

  2. There is no software extender, it’s somthing we have all asked for but I don’t think we will ever see it
