Google working on Google branded home entertainment system

Could Google be working on a Sonos competitor? The Wall Street Journal are reporting that Google are planning to develop a home entertainment system that would stream music around the home wirelessly and controlled from a tablet or smartphone.  The report also says it will be marketed under Google’s own brand rather than partnering with manufactures as it has done with Android devices.

Sounds like a good idea?

I predict Microsoft will have a new found interest in Media Centre within a few hours of google announcement on Mon 13th Feb 2012.

What’s the old saying, ‘How do you know something’s about to become popular and achieve mainstream market penetration – Microsoft loses interest and shuts development down’
