The Windows 10 May 2020 Update is finally here and there are couple of ways of getting your machine updated.

Before you start remember that you are installing a major update to Windows 10 so you should have a backup or some kind of plan if things go wrong.

Option 1 – Windows Update

The simplest way is to get the update via Windows Update. Go to Settings, Update and Security and check for update. If the update is available for your machine you will see a Download and install now option.

To get the update click on the button and Windows will start the installation process. Microsoft are slowly rolling out the update so you may not see the option yet.

Option 2 – Getting the Windows 10 May 2020 Update via the Update Assistant

To update the via Update Assistant download Microsoft’s tool from https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

Run the program and click on Update Now, step through the tool and it will download and install the Windows 10 May 2020 Update.

Option 3 – Update via the Windows 10 media creation tool

The Windows 10 media creation tool enables you to create an ISO of Windows 10 so you can install the update on your PC or multiple machines. Download from https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10

Download and run the tool, accept the licence and then you can select whether you want to upgrade the machine or have the tool create installation media so you can apply the update to another PC.
