In this video, I unbox and setup the D-Link DIR-3060 Smart Mesh router. The router supports 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11n, 802.11a, Wave 2 wireless dual band and MU-MIMO technology. It has 4 x gigabit LAN ports and a high speed USB 3.0 port. In the video I setup the router and look at some of the features available via the browser interface and the D-Link’s smart phone app. I also look at controlling the router via Amazon Alexa.

The router supports parental controls, guest networks, quality of service and a DLNA media server.

The router is designed to work with Mesh extenders so you can extend the range of the wifi coverage with additional D-Link extenders, which I am hoping to test soon. The six antennas on the router give it a much stronger signal strength that other routers I have tested, including the D-Link 1960 router.

I have been using the router for the last few weeks connected to my ISPs broadband router and have found the wifi speed to be better than the ISP provided router. I have also found the signal to be very reliable and have not experienced any drops. Overall I have been pretty pleased with the 3060 and am looking forward to trying out a D-Link mesh extender.
