Today at Ignite 2019 Microsoft have announced that the new Chromium based Microsoft Edge will be available January 15th. Microsoft have been working on the browser for over a year and a release candidate of the new browser is available to download. The RC is build 79.0.309.11 with the dev and canary version running version 80. The RC doesn’t have the new icon but we should see it included in future builds.
I have found the browser to be stable and quick and I have switch to using the browser full time now. Microsoft’s challenge will be getting average users to switch browsers.
