May saw a slight drop in the Windows Mixed Reality usage on the monthly Steam survey. The last survey had Windows Mixed Reality at 11.07 % and in in May the usage was slightly down at 10.99%. Usage is up from 8.9% at the beginning of the year and the SteamVR’s survey does not include Windows Mixed Reality games played directly for the native Cliff House or Skyloft, but it does give an indication on how games are using the various headsets.

The main gain was for Oculus Rift, which increased 1%.

There has been a lot of interest in the new HP Reverb which has had positive reviews, but HP have been slow getting the units out to consumers. Also on the way are new headsets from Acer, and HTC are adding support for the Viveport to Windows Mixed Reality so the next few month could see a rise again.
