Microsoft have finally re-released the Windows 10 October 2018 Update. The update originally shipped October 2nd but Microsoft withdrew the update as users were finding files where being deleted by the update process if they were using folder re-direction. Microsoft fixed the problem October 9th and released the fix to Windows Insiders but still held the update back.

Microsoft have issued multiple cumulative updates for Windows Insiders including a fix to the zip file bug and now final they have released it to the wild again.

The bug was part of the upgrade process and Microsoft made a mistake in not shipping the update to Windows Insider on the Release Preview ring, as slow and fast ring uses where already on Redstone 5 (the code name for the update). Had Microsoft used RP ring they would have seen more reports of the bug, whether they would have acted on the bugs is another matter.

Anyway, the update is out today and here is my review of the update (minus the bugs!)
