Yesterday at Microsoft’s Surface event as well as announcing the release of the Windows 10 October 2018 Update, Microsoft also announced the latest updates to its Surface range of devices. Having been a fan of the Surface line going back to the original Surface RT I was interested to see what they would announce.

Surface Pro 6

Replacing the Surface Pro is the Surface Pro 6 with Microsoft going back to numeric naming for Pro device. The new Surface Pro 6 has an Intel 8th Gen quad core processor and now comes in black. Microsoft say the battery life has been extended up to 13.5 hours and it adds a 8 MP from camera.

Pre-orders open October 2nd from $899 / £879.

Surface Laptop 2

The update to the Surface Laptop has the Intel 8th Gen quad core processor that Microsoft say gives 14.5 hours of battery life and comes in a nice new matt black colour. The Surface Laptop 2 pre-orders open October 2nd from $999 / £979

Surface Studio 2

A device that I really enjoyed using was the Surface Studio and that has received a spec update. There is USB C and Xbox Wireless support, Nvidia GTX 1070 video card, 2TB SSD drive (no more hybrid drive) and 7th gen Intel CPU. Prices start at $3499, no UK price yet.

Surface Headphones

The final device announced yesterday is the new Surface Headphones. They are premium noise cancelling headphones with hands-free calling. There is variable noise cancelling, auto pausing when you take the headphones off and built in Cortana for hands free operation. The Surface Headphones start at $349 in the US, no UK price yet. They will be available later this year.
