Every time I pickup a HoloLens I am amazing how mixed reality works and the potential for the future. The current HoloLens while still being unique is getting a little old (launched in 2016) and the latest report is that Microsoft will be launching the next gen device in January 2019. In a leaked report on thurrott.com Microsoft are said to be targeting Q1 2019 for the 2nd gen HoloLens which is code named Sydney.
The new HoloLens is said to be cheaper than the current version, lighter and with an improved display. I can’t wait to see how Microsoft progress with Mixed Reality, while they are out on their own in terms on MR devices there is a lot of competition coming down the road.
