Alex Kipman the man behind Microsoft’s HoloLens is one of the finalists for the European Inventor Award 2018 for his work on HoloLens, and in a video explaining all about HoloLens the narrators says that Microsoft have sold “50k copies” of the device so far. Given the HoloLens isn’t designed to be a consumer device and it’s really for developers and enterprises and with a hefty price tag the number is pretty impressive.
