Microsoft tests out new names of the Photos app for Windows Insiders

Microsoft have been experimenting with different names for the photos for the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update. The app which is current called Photos has been renamed “Photos & Video” for some Windows Insiders and “Story Remix” for others, the purpose being for Windows Insiders to provide feedback on the naming as the naming is not final yet.

First shown off a Microsoft’s Build event Story Remix was actually just a part of the photos app that auto creates video stories based on your photos and videos, as its only part of the feature set Photos and Video probably makes more sense however it could leave to some confusion with the Movies & TV app.

It looks like the updated photos app isn’t going to get all the feature shown off a build Windows Central reported that the interesting 3D capabilities of the app aren’t going to make it for the release of the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update and instead will ship sometime during RS3 development.
